The Angel Inn is developing a lunchtime & light-bite selection. We currently offer:
House Soup
Pork Rillette & Petit Pain
Mackerel Pâté & Petit Pain
The focus is, again, on the quality of ingredients. All soups are made in house with fresh ingredients (no tins here!). As well as house-made bread, the pork in your rillette is, of course, free range and rare breed, the pâté is crafted at the Angel Inn using the finest smoked mackerel from the Whightman Fishing Company in Lowestoft.
Bread for the rillette and pâté is baked to order, so please pre-book if you are going to be in a hurry.
House Soups from £7.5
Served with a choice of toast made in-house using stone-ground organic flour; choose from:
farmhouse sourdough or wholemeal, seeded spelt.
- Mushroom Soup £7.5 [VG] - simply made with large flat mushrooms, onion and vegetable stock and a sprinkle of white pepper
- Tomato, Pepper, Lime & Chili Soup £8.5 [VG] - this is not for the faint-hearted - made with fresh vine-ripened, cherry tomatoes, fresh red bell peppers, freshly squeezed lime juice and fresh, hot chillies, plus copious amounts of coarsely ground, black pepper - very spicy
All soup served with toast made from our house baked bread* (choose form Ale House Sourdough or Seeded, Wholemeal Spelt)
*GF alternative available.

Pork Rillette & Petit Pain £8.5
This simple light-bite allows the ingredients to speak for themselves.
- Pork Rillette Classic French rillette is not a pork pâté as such, but instead, a soft melting meat created by long slow-cooking. This one is crafted in Suffolk from rare breed, free range pork.
- Pickled Gherkins, with their slight sourness; these are the perfect accompaniment, cutting through the pork.
- Petit Pain - freshly baked at the Angel with just stone-ground flour, yeast, water and a pinch of Maldon sea salt.
[Raw butter from Fen farm Dairy not included - please add £0.8 if required.]
This dish goes well with range of beverages and we suggest: a ruby ale, our house Riesling, Whin Hill's Falstaff cider or even a bottle of Sekt or glass of Party Wine
Mackerel Pâté & Petit Pain £8.5
Again, we are keeping it simple with this no-fuss, mini fish board.
- Angel Inn Smoked Mackerel pâté
- Caper berries, with their slight sourness, these are the perfect accompaniment, cutting through the fish
- Petit Pain - freshly baked at the Angel with just stone-ground flour, yeast, water and a pinch of Maldon sea salt

We suggest a glass of the house white, a citrus pale ale or open a bottle of the sauvignon blanc to accompany this snack.
